VoidBrick | Turning sand into strong, sustainable, and reusable structures

Technology Overview

VoidBrick is a solid structural material created by binding natural sand (e.g., from deserts, beaches, or local dunes) with TPoxy™, a proprietary nano-bonding solution developed by DRT. The formula uses no cement, mortar, or mineral-based binders, resulting in a strong, moldable block that resists water, heat, and fire. VoidBrick is ideal for regions with abundant sand but limited access to conventional construction materials—such as deserts in the Middle East and Africa, or remote areas with high logistics costs.

Key Features

Category Description
🧱 High Strength Tested to withstand 30–40 kg compression—even with drilled holes
💦 Water-Resistant Holds up under water pressure; does not soften or disintegrate in rain or ponds
🔥 Non-Flammable Does not ignite, contains no flammable materials, and emits no toxic smoke
🌞 UV & Heat Resistant No cracking or breaking, even under extreme desert sun
🧽 Mold-Resistant Not prone to fungal or algal growth, extending service life
🔄 Recyclable Can be crushed and remixed with TPoxy™ for re-forming
🛠️ Easy to Mold Can be cast in molds without ovens or high-pressure systems
🌱 Safe Free of carcinogens, VOCs, or microplastics
💰 Cost-Efficient Long-Term Uses local sand—no need to import cement or timber

Real-World Applications

  • Water containment ponds in desert zones
  • Structural blocks: flooring, walls, or modular forms
  • Walkways in gardens, public spaces, or slopes
  • Desert housing prototypes / emergency shelters / post-disaster reconstruction

Core Materials

  •  Natural sand: desert sand, coastal sand, screened dune sand
  • TPoxy NanoSeal Max – proprietary binder by Doctor T

Field Production Method

  • Screen the sand to achieve consistent particle size
  • Mix with TPoxy using a defined ratio
  • Pour into molds (wood or temporary plastic molds can be used)
  • Air-cure for 12–24 hours depending on ambient temperature
  • Ready for use—no firing, no extended curing like cement bricks

Strategic Advantages

  • Tailored for deserts and low-resource countries where sand is abundant but imports are costly
  • Not reliant on cement industries, which are high-carbon emitters
  • Reduces environmental damage from river sand dredging or quarry mining
  • Empowers local construction of homes, roads, and infrastructure with minimal dependency

Current Status

  • Field-formed prototypes tested for structural strength
  • Planned engineering validation with university partners
  • Ready for pilot projects, including:
  • Desert Prototype Housing” or “Post-Fire Emergency Modules”
